CEO/Co-Founder of Blanket Fort Hope.
Alexa was born in Birmingham Alabama, has two grown boys, a daughter in love and one awesome grandson. She attended Southeastern Bible College and UAB in the field of secondary education and is a recent graduate of Highlands College with an emphasis on human trafficking, women’s ministry, and mission’s work.
Her time in this program of study fed her passion for social justice and led her to help in the early beginnings of the Wellhouse as their Development Director through 2015, and lead them to become a very successful agency. Through her work with the Wellhouse, she began to see that there was a gap in services for child victims of Human Trafficking. She spent six months working at the Dream Center and elementary schools in the Woodlawn area as a Highlands College student and quickly recognized the grave need for Blanket Fort Hope. Alexa co-founded Blanket Fort Hope in 2015. She has devoted the last ten years of her life helping victims of human trafficking to safety along with educating, advocating on the state level, and awareness. She is dedicated to seeing these children to safety and to give them a place to thrive, a fortress, Blanket Fort Hope.
Alexa partners with:
- The mandated Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force and END IT Alabama
- The Jefferson County Child Solution Project
- The Child Trafficking Solutions project on education and advocating along with working with Birmingham-metro cities to become a “Trafficking Free Zone”
- Hidden Gems Films
Awards: Alexa is a recipient of an FBI award as well as National Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) in recognition for her work with trafficking victims.
Invitation: In Alabama, Blanket Fort Hope is one of the first agencies specifically to provide a safe place for child victims of human trafficking. We acknowledge that the Gospel is foundational to the restoration of these children. Given this, we see it as a great opportunity to partner with the church and like-minded individuals to build a Gospel-centered safe haven where children thrive. We can accomplish this work if you join us in prayer, giving, volunteering, and sharing.
