Big things happened this year at Blanket Fort Hope. Click the photo to read all about it. And 2022 was just the beginning of so many exciting things. Thank you for your continued support. Together we can change the lives of trafficked children in our state.
Our Groundbreaking Ceremony was held Dec 17, 2023. It was a wonderful day to dedicate the land our Children’s Restoration Home will be built on to the Lord. We were blessed to have the following special guest speakers: Ken Valentine, BFH Board; Keith Stanley, City Ministries Pastor, The Church at Brook Hills; Brad Jordan, Pelham Police Department; David Hyche, Calera Police Chief; David Mitchell, Mayor of Columbiana; Kim Mashego, Shelby County DHR; Alexa James, CEO & Founder Blanket Fort Hope. The evening ended with the board of directors putting shovels in the ground followed by a candle lighting ceremony. Music was provided by Jackson Walls Band. Special thanks to our photographer Savannah Barnett Photography!

Praying for a Restoration Center
Praying Over the Mission
Starting this month, we will be holding a regular on-site dedication event. This is an opportunity to come out, see our property, pray with us, and help lay a foundation for our mission that is built on Christ, symbolized by a personalized prayer rock. Please feel free to invite champions in your circle that may be interested in our cause. This is a great opportunity to engage others and grow our outreach!
Date: April 30th, 2021
Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
Where: 24809 AL-25, Columbiana, AL 35051
Details: Drinks and light snacks will be provided. If you would like to bring your own rock, be sure it is large and flat enough to write on, but small enough to easily carry.
The land is next to Cornerstone Christian School, right next to the two youth baseball fields. Parking is free, but we will be sharing the space with the school so be courteous!
What is a prayer rock?
We believe that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of all the church, and we want to make sure our king stays at the front of our mission. To help us remember this, we will provide every attendee with a rock and a sharpie so they may write a verse from scripture.
What will be done with the rocks?
Once we begin construction on the restoration center, we will integrate these rocks into the center itself. In this way, we will be able to remember where we came from and that we serve a great and mighty God.
Can I do anything to help with the event?
Yes, of course! These will be monthly gatherings. We encourage you to invite people who may have never heard of our mission to come out, experience who we are, and see what our future on this beautiful property looks like.
We need our champions to share our cause. One of the greatest things you can do is share our cause and our vision. Invite them to this event! Invite them to give generously! Invite them to champion with us for the 5,700 child sex trafficking survivors in Alabama every year!
Our Staff is Growing
After a tremendous year of financial growth in 2020, we realized that the time was right to grow our organization. We are so happy to announce our first full-time hire, Justin Adderholt. Justin will be filling our organization’s long-standing need for a Development Director. He brings 10 years of experience in marketing and advertising and an invaluable voice of consistency to Blanket Fort Hope. In this new role, he will be responsible for building relationships with donors, influencers, and vendors that will help build the presence and scope of our organization in Alabama.
In the beginning of last year, Justin came across our mission through our partnership with The Church at Brook Hills. He was so moved by our presentation, that he reached out immediately to set a meeting with Alexa. Within the next month, they had begun work on updating the brand and making plans for the new website. Since serving in a volunteer capacity for the last year, he has breathed life and consistency into our brand presence while also overseeing the launch of our brand-new website, integrating our brand standards, event promotion, and building relationships through volunteer coordination.
We are excited and confident in his abilities to help Blanket Fort Hope reach its next goal of building the restorative therapeutic center for child survivors. Please welcome Justin to our team!
